“I’m going to tell you a secret”. When initiating his speech for the May 8 commemorations, the mayor of Chartres, Jean-Pierre Gorges, did not evade the origin of his writing. “To write this tribute to the women and men who gave their lives and paid the price of blood, I asked for help,” he begins in a speech posted on Facebook and captured by le figaro.
“The future…”
Clearly, the elected official used ChatGPT to write his speech. Very factual and ultimately without any emphasis, the chatbot made a notable return to the town square of Chartres during the Liberation.
“It is also a time to honor those who lost their lives during the war and pay tribute to those who survived,” continues the artificial intelligence before Jean-Pierre Gorges takes over.
“This artificial intelligence thing repeats itself a bit (…) it’s still a bit long, perhaps,” he admits, “but you can read in it the respect that I asked him to have for our dead and our fighters.” At least the chatbot seems to have convinced the chosen one.
