In the world of custom fan websites, many are familiar with Skyblog. But another company has made it easy and fast to create personal sites for many years – Orange. Unfortunately, the operator’s “Personal Pages” service will soon close its doors forever.
As of September 5, 2023, the service will stop, Orange announced and the MacGeneration site noted. However, users of this option will be able to keep their files intact until January 9, 2024, when they migrate their content to a new site.
Colorful designs and stylish fonts.
“Personal Pages” has so far allowed one to six websites to be created, alone or with the help of assistance. This service thus offered the possibility to any individual or organization to create their own exhibition site, with more or less aesthetics and subtlety. Rural houses, associations or teachers could thus share their accommodation offers, news or even the latest math homework to be done with as many people as possible.
These sites, many of which have already migrated to another host, in fact often display very colorful pages with heterogeneous fonts and layouts. However, many Pages are still active and will need to focus on migrating their content.
To do this, users will need to go to their “Personal Pages” dashboard and make a data recovery request to download their content. In the meantime, internet archive enthusiasts can still visit the Orange site to discover some of these relics, now outnumbered by the millions of pages created on social media.
