“All signals are green” for the VivaTech fair to be held from June 14 to 17 in Paris, François Bitouzet assures the Tech&Co microphone. With 2,400 start-ups and 20% more space, the fair hopes to attract even more visitors for its seventh edition, surpassing its record from last year, when 91,000 onlookers flocked to the Gate of Versailles.
If artificial intelligence is at the center of technology news, it will also be at the forefront of the topics discussed on the VivaTech stages this year. “AI is really at the center of all concerns,” says VivaTech’s general manager.
Make way for AI
This year, VivaTech used a study, conducted in partnership with Harris Interactive on the company’s concerns regarding technology, to prepare for the show. And surprisingly, Europeans are not afraid of artificial intelligence.
So much so that, this year, 18% of the startups present at the fair will talk about AI, compared to only 6% last year. The organizer of the salon confirms this: “it interests everyone.”
This year, more than 400 speakers will follow one another during the four days of the fair. With a guest of honor: Bob Metcalfe, 2022 Turing Award Winner and inventor of ethernet. An Internet pioneer, he will come to talk about artificial intelligence, as will Yann Le Cun, director of AI at Meta. “He has quite a particular freedom of expression,” says François Bitouzet, “he has prepared two or three things for us that will make noise.”
To live the event from within, Tech&Co will film two special programs, in the very heart of the VivaTech fair.
