The misfortune of some is usually the happiness of others. And the saying applies perfectly to Prime Video today. Amazon’s streaming platform released an ironic tweet after the effective implementation of the closure of shared accounts on Netflix.
Citing the original Netflix tweet, Prime Video was delighted to see “subscribers have increased since this tweet was posted,” all accompanied by a gif of the series. Homelanderwell known to fans of memes on social media.

This isn’t the first time Prime Video and Netflix have argued over the tweets. Similar to Burger King and McDonald’s fast food chains, banter between the two accounts is common. Prime Video had thus mocked Netflix’s announcement about the arrival of season 2 of the series Detective Conan, since the series arrived earlier in its catalog. To which Netflix had responded by advancing the premiere of the series, in order to get ahead of its competitor.
In another tweet, Netflix confessed that the only positive from Prime Video was the Orelsan documentary and “that’s it.” Tacle that makes Prime Video laugh.
Good-natured tweets but a lingering question: Will Prime Video be able to surpass Netflix in terms of subscribers? As of early 2023, Netflix claimed more than 230 million subscribers worldwide when Prime Video has around 200 million users. An increasingly tight fight.
