This is the third time this year. Google has once again discovered a zero-day flaw in its Chrome browser. This means that a security breach never detected since the release of the software has been identified. The company has already corrected its tool thanks to an update that users must carry out as soon as possible, says the specialized site 01net.
As in April, when two security holes were updated in quick succession, the discovery was made by Clément Lecigne. The engineer is part of Google’s threat analysis group.

The new security flaw looks similar to one of the old ones. There is still talk of confusion within the V8 JavaScript engine. Again, hackers can take advantage of this hole to inject malicious code by manipulating the memory of a JavaScript program. Always with the result of compromising data, remotely taking control of a computer or executing malicious software.
Although updates are usually automatic, it is possible to ensure that your Chrome browser is well protected. To do this, go to the software settings by clicking on the three dots at the top right of the window.
By going to the “About Chrome” tab, you will find out the current version of your software. The version number set by Google is 114.0.5735.110 on Windows and Linux. For Mac, this is version 114.0.5735.106.
