“There’s a lot to show.” There was nothing wishful thinking about Todd Howard’s promise when he announced in early March the detailed presentation of star field of June 11. This Sunday, Bethesda’s next game was entitled to a 45-minute dedicated Xbox Showcase sequel.
As The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in May or Diablo IV in June, it’s an understatement to say that Starfield generates anticipation. For the developers at Bethesda, it’s all about delivering an impressive game on September 6. After the failure of Redfall, the goal of star field is to restore the image of the exclusive games of the Xbox universe. And in view of the arguments presented, the bet promises to be a resounding success.
The greatest city ever built
The initial promise is still present: freely explore more than 1000 planets. According to procedural generation (random creation from predefined parameters), players will transit through different environments, without necessarily being guided by a specific quest. At stake, the collection of resources, the discovery of the local fauna and flora or even the encounter with a band of pirates.
Thus, in Starfield, there is no fictional setting. Any visible planet or moon can be hit with a spaceship strike. This environment uses a new generation of lightweight models. Therefore, the lighting will be different depending on the star that shines on you and the composition of the atmosphere of the planet the player is on.
The Starfield universe will have several cities, including New Atlantis. According to the developers, it is the largest ever built: both in terms of size, custom decoration elements, crowds of people or missions. In each of them, the creators of the title have wanted to integrate characters more than extras.
Detailed and diverse characters.
Through the free exploration of the planets, star field it wants to be one of the least restrictive games possible. This will be reflected in the main character’s customization. To achieve this result, a large panel of faces, of different ages and different ethnicities, was scanned.
It is through this same technique that all of the Starfield characters, first and second, were created. Thus, each of the cross faces within the game could be recreated within the customization tool.
The player will be able to refine his character by giving him a past, which defines his basic abilities. They can be complemented by a new skill system, partly inherited from the studio’s previous games, such as skyrim or the saga fall. Each of them can be improved through challenges to achieve during your adventure.
Exploitation of planets.
To conquer the planets, the player can equip himself with a spaceship. You can buy one before upgrading or modifying it. Again, Bethesda promises excessive customization. Each module of the ship can be placed as desired. These choices will affect not only the outer appearance of a ship, but also the activities available inside.
These are the modules that allow you to build your ship. Because just like on dry land, threats are never far away in space. Starfield thus offers scenes of space combat that will mark the trips between different planets.
Among the other features that the game offers: the exploitation of planets. The player will be able to build bases, “virtually anywhere, on any planet,” say the developers. These items will allow you to collect resources there by placing extractors there or by assigning companions to the location.
With its almost endless possibilities, Starfield promises to keep players busy for many hours. The game will be available on September 6. Five day early access (as Diablo IV) is offered for the purchase of the Premium edition of the title.
