The judge explained that the defendants -Trump and his advisor Walt Nauta, who is also charged in this case- will only have access to the information of the judicial process under the direct supervision of their legal team, and they cannot keep copies of the material. .
In the event of a violation of the order requested by Special Counsel Smith, the two defendants could face criminal charges for contempt of court.
The charges against Trump range from knowingly withholding national security information to conspiracy to obstruct justice in connection with the investigation of various classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago, Florida residence.
