The leader of the Wagner paramilitary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, this Wednesday accused Russian military leaders of hiding the difficulties their troops face as a result of the Ukrainian counter-offensive, which has produced modest results at this stage.
“The enemy occupies Piatykhaty, in the north of Robotyne and Urozhaine, which means that large areas of territory have been lost to the enemy”Prigozhin analyzed, according to an audio recording released on the Telegram social network.
In the third week of the counter-offensive, Kiev forces are causing “serious losses and problems” on the Russian side, which are being pushed, he denounced, pointing out that the Russians are unaware of the situation.
Prigozhin again criticized the military hierarchy of Russia, with whom the leader of the Wagner group has been in open conflict for several months.
“All this is completely hidden from everyone. One day Russia will wake up and realize that Crimea is Ukrainian. This is a direct betrayal of the interests of the Russian Federation.”emphasized Prigozhin.
In the area of Sadové, north of Tokmak in the Zaporijia region (south), “there is no commando, no weapons, no ammunition”warned.
Kiev has so far reported recapturing eight sites since the counter-offensive began, while Moscow has only reported that its army has tirelessly repelled all Ukrainian attacks.
Yevgeny Prigozhin accused the military leadership, including Defense Minister Serguei Shoigu, of communicating facts that do not correspond to reality.
“Information is blocked, the enemy is approaching Molotchniy Lyman”a small town near the Black Sea, south of Melitopol, not yet crumpled.
The recapture of this village would allow the Ukrainian army to split the Russian troops in two and reach the Black Sea.
