The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, defended this Saturday that the world “has seen that the Russian bosses do not control anything” and that “complete chaos” reigns in the direction of the country.
In a message shared on Twitter even before Yevgeny Prigozhin announced the suspension of the Wagner Group’s movements towards Moscow, Zelensky argues that Ukraine will be able to defend Europe from Russian forces.
“The world should not be afraid. We know what protects us. It is our unity. Ukraine will definitely be able to protect Europe from all Russian forces, no matter who commands them. We will protect. The defense of Europe’s eastern flank depends only on our defense “, says.
The Ukrainian leader also extols the country’s soldiers, weapons, tanks and missiles as “everything that protects Europe from marches like the ones seen on Russian soil” and stresses that, when calling for F-16s or ballistic missiles, is “enhancing European capacity”. common defense.
Zelensky also challenges the world to acknowledge that Russia’s actions in Ukraine were “unprovoked” and vows that Ukrainians will defend their country and their freedom.
“We are not going to remain silent and we are not going to be inactive. We know how to win, and that is what will happen. Our victory in this war,” promises the Ukrainian leader, who also warns the Russians: “The longer your troops are in Ukraine, the more devastation they will cause Russia. The longer this person is in the Kremlin, the more disasters there will be.”
Ukraine has made several advances
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced advances in various directions on the eastern front, as part of the offensive against Moscow forces. According to Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar, the offensive is simultaneously going “in several directions”, including towards the city of Bakhmut, while the Russian side continues heavy shelling against Ukrainian troops.
Maliar, quoted by Ukrinform, referred to the rebellion of Wagner’s mercenary group in the Russian Federation as “a window of opportunity” for Ukraine that would demonstrate “the inevitable degradation of the Russian state.”
Despite this, Hanna Maliar called on Ukrainian citizens not to relax and “be careful and prepare for any scenario.”
“We continue working to be stronger and win,” he said, quoted by EFE.
