Delta airlines said they were “deeply saddened” by this accident and assured they would “cooperate with the authorities” who are leading the investigation, in a press release sent to the local channel KENS 5.

On Wednesday, Piedmont Airlines was fined more than $15,000 by the federal agency in charge of preventing workplace accidents (OSHA), for its responsibility in the fatal accident of an airport agent, which occurred last year in similar circumstances.
