At least one person was killed and seven injured after Kherson was hit by shelling on Monday, a Ukrainian military official said. A pregnant woman is among the injured.
The head of the military administration of the Kherson region, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported in a Telegram post that the districts south of the city were among those hit by 17 projectiles, according to CNN International.
Also this Monday, the Ukrainian Air Force announced it had intercepted 13 Russian missiles and drones during the night, including two Kalibr cruise missiles and seven Shahed attack drones.
No one was injured in these attacks and damage was recorded in two residential buildings, Natalia Humeniuk, spokeswoman for Ukraine’s Southern Command, quoted by CNN as saying.
The official said that the work of the Ukrainian air defense was hampered by bad weather conditions, namely an “extremely strong storm at sea and thunder during the night”.
