Putin Says Wagner Group Military Can Join Russian Army Or Go To Belarus

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, addressed the Russians on Monday, after the first statements by the leader of the Wagner Group after the rebellion against Moscow. The Russian head of state thanked the Russians for their “patriotism” and assured that the military of the Wagner group have two exits.

According to the Russian leader, the soldiers who led the rebellion may join the country’s army or, failing that, they may go into exile in Belarus.

“He has the possibility to continue serving Russia by entering into a contract with the Defense Ministry or other law enforcement agencies, or return to his family and loved ones… Belarus,” Putin said.

In the statement, Vladimir Putin said that Prigozhin did what the West wanted, which was to see the Russians “kill each other”, assuring that everything possible was done to contain the threat and that any attempt to blackmail or destabilize Russia is “doomed to fail” “.

“This is precisely what the enemies of Russia wanted: both the kyiv neo-Nazis and their Western patrons, and all sorts of national traitors. They wanted the Russian soldiers to kill each other,” he charged.

Even so, Russia’s president claims to have issued orders to prevent “bloodshed” during the Wagner Group uprising.

“Since the beginning of events, under my orders, measures have been taken to prevent large-scale bloodshed,” the Russian president said.
