The American artist Madonna was discharged from the hospital this Thursday and is recovering at home, after being admitted to intensive care due to a “serious bacterial infection,” CNN International reported.
Madonna will have been transported from the hospital to her home in New York, US, in a private ambulance, an unnamed source told CNN, adding: “She is fine.”
“His health is improving, but he is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected, ”wrote the agent of the American singer, Guy Oseary, who also indicated that Madonna will postpone the start of the next tour while she recovers.
“Right now, we have to suspend all commitments, which includes the tour,” he said. “We’ll share more details as soon as we have them, including a new tour start date and for rescheduled shows.”
Guy Oseary revealed this Wednesday, on his social networks, that “The Celebration Tour” -which was due to start in Vancouver, Canada, on July 15- is suspended.
“On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection that required her to spend several days in intensive care. Her health is improving, but she is still under medical care. She is expected to make a full recovery. At this time we will have to call off all engagements including touring,” Guy Oseary wrote on Instagram.
Madonna has two concerts scheduled in Portugal on November 6 and 7, at the Altice Arena in Lisbon. The first date is already sold out and there are few tickets left for the second.
The show that Madonna presents on “The Celebration Tour” will have as its motto “the unparalleled catalog of hits from the last 40 years” of the singer, “the female soloist who has sold the most singles and albums in all of music history.”
