Jonathan Jacob Meijer, the Dutch musician and YouTuber who claims to have had more than 500 children through sperm donations, has admitted to cheating on women trying to get pregnant. The confession was made in an interview with the program Fantástico, on TV Globo.
“For a small group of mothers, I actually gave a false number of children conceived with my sperm and that was not correct. I take my responsibility and apologize,” admitted Jonathan Jacob Meijer.
The man also said the court’s decision to bar him from making further donations was “discriminatory”.
“It’s strange, in the Netherlands and in the world there are big sperm banks that send thousands of samples by mail and there are other donors who have even more children than me. So I think it’s discriminatory that they ban me, but there are no restrictions for these big clinics,” he stated.
At the beginning of April, several women discovered that their children, the result of artificial insemination, had the same donor. In the Netherlands, a donor is only allowed to father 25 children to prevent cases of incest.
The mothers sued Jonathan and he was banned from donating sperm in the future and he still pays a fine of 100,000 euros for each time he fails to comply with the sentence.
“If I had known that he was already the father of more than 100 children, I would never have chosen this donor. Thinking about the consequences this could have for my son makes me sick. Going to court is the only way to protect my son,” said Eva, Dutch who had a son from Jonathan in 2018.
