Carlos Ghosn targeted with new international arrest warrant

In April, an investigating judge of the Paris court issued an international arrest warrant for Carlos Ghosn, the former leader of Renault-Nissan, who lives in Lebanon, AFP reported on Tuesday, citing a source close to the case.

The order is related to an investigation into contracts at a Renault-Nissan subsidiary, according to the same source.

Ghosn had already been the subject of another international arrest warrant issued in April 2022 by a magistrate from Nanterre, as part of an investigation into the misuse of company assets and money laundering related to an Omani dealership, Suhail Bahwan Automobiles (SBA ).

“Carlos Ghosn cannot leave Lebanon, the Lebanese authorities prevent him from leaving the territory because of the lawsuits in Japan, so he cannot respond to subpoenas in France,” the target’s lawyers told AFP.

Carlos Ghosn, who has French, Brazilian and Lebanese nationality, was detained in Japan but fled the country at the end of 2019 and went to Lebanon.
