“This violence is inexcusable and does not represent the youth of our country,” said Borne, who accused the deputies of the France Insoumisa (LFI) party, in particular its leader, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, of not wanting to adhere to the calls . for calm and for his constant criticism of police action.

“The culprits are sought in all the republican institutions, but not among the perpetrators of the violence,” Borne rebutted the president of the LFI group in the National Assembly, Mathilde Panot, whom he censured for opting for “verbal brutality” and the ” constant excuses for violence”. .

At the same time, President Emmanuel Macron met in Paris with 300 mayors from the areas affected by the riots, telling them that their “absolute priority” was to restore order in a lasting way, although he was “very prudent” if that It happens in the next few days and the next few weeks.
