Berlusconi leaves 100 million euros to the last woman, 53 years younger

Media billionaire and former Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi, who died on June 12 at the age of 86, left 100 million euros to his last companion, 33-year-old Marta Fascina, in a declassified will on Thursday.

Fascina, whom Berlusconi called “my wife” – even though they were not married on paper – is also a member of the Forza Italia party, founded by the magnate.

Loved by some and hated by others, this self-proclaimed lover of women much younger than himself, including call girls, he was involved in several cases related to controversial parties.

His latest companion will benefit from a substantial but modest inheritance, compared to the businessman’s assets, valued by Forbes at 6.4 billion euros, which will be mainly allocated to his five children from two marriages.

The will was read the day before and its contents released by the Italian agency Ansa.

Provisions related to the numerous properties and yachts were not immediately disclosed.

Marina and Pier Silvio Berlusconi, born of the magnate’s first marriage to Carla Dall’Oglio, jointly inherit 53% of the family business Fininvest, a financial source told AFP after the will was opened. The other three children, Luigi, Eleonora and Bárbara, born of his second marriage to former actress Veronica Lario, receive the remaining 47%. Berlusconi ordered the measures against Fininvest in 2006, shortly before he was hospitalized in Milan.

The family business controls a number of companies, including the television group MediaForEurope (formerly Mediaset), led by Pier Silvio Berlusconi, the Mondadori publishing house, chaired by Marina Berlusconi, and the bank Mediolanum.

Fininvest’s net profit fell by 44% to 200.2 million euros last year, while turnover remained virtually the same at 3.82 billion euros.

Berlusconi’s will, which dominated Italian political life for decades, was accompanied by a handwritten phrase addressed to his children: “Thank you. I have much love for all of you. Your father.”

Berlusconi, whose origins are still shrouded in mystery, also left 100 million euros to his brother Paolo, as well as 30 million euros to his controversial friend and partner Marcello Dell’Utri, co-founder of Forza Italia, who was arrested in the 2010 for acting as an intermediary between Berlusconi and the Sicilian mafia Cosa Nostra in the 1970s.

The provisions regarding Marta Fascina and Dell’Utri, written in black ink and enclosed in an unsealed envelope, are dated January 2022 and are justified by the author: “For the affection I had for them and they for me had”.
