Lula wins in Australia and New Zealand, Bolsonaro wins in East Timor

Lula da Silva was the most voted Brazilian presidential candidate in Australia and New Zealand, while the current head of state, Jair Bolsonaro, repeated his 2018 victory in East Timor, according to provisional results.

The results of the vote in the three countries were published, as usual, at the polling stations after the voting was completed.

According to data obtained by Lusa, Lula obtained 701 votes against 223 for Jair Bolsonaro in the vote in Australia and won in New Zealand with 328 votes, against 71 votes for Jair Bolsonaro.

In Timor-Leste, as in 2018, Jair Bolsonaro was the candidate with the most votes by the 65 voters (out of 91 registered) who visited the Brazilian Embassy in Dili today.

Bolsonaro obtained 37 votes, against 18 for Lula da Silva, six for Ciro Gomes, three for Simone Tebet and one for Felipe d’Avila.

In the 2018 elections, Bolsonaro had already won by a wide margin, getting 41 votes to only two for Fernando Haddad (in the first round) and 27 votes in the second round to Haddad’s 11.
