The British Defense Minister, Ben Wallace, has announced that he will leave the Government in the next change of government, scheduled for September, and will not stand for deputy in the next elections.
The announcement was made in an interview with the Sunday Times by the longest-serving Conservative at the head of the Defense Ministry.
The interview comes in the wake of a controversy at the NATO summit in Vilnius, where Wallace said the UK was not an Amazon arms delivery service to Ukraine and urged Kiev to be sensible and “show gratitude” to his supporters.
Wallace, 53, sought to be elected NATO secretary general but failed to win US support.
