“Venezuela cannot miss the opportunity and must call elections. For that, we are willing to help in everything that can be done,” said the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, on Tuesday.

The French head of state, Emmanuel Macron, met with the vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, and with the opposition negotiator, Gerardo Blyde, in a meeting held this Tuesday on the sidelines of the summit of leaders of the European Union and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
The meeting, promoted by the European Union, was also attended by the President of Brazil, Lula da Silva, and his counterparts from Argentina, Alberto Fernández, and Colombia, Gustavo Petro, as well as Josep Borrell.
According to the Colombian head of state, the objective of the meeting “was to recreate the environment for a process that, through dialogue, between the different fractions of Venezuelan society, can reach a democratic agreement.”
