The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, considered this Sunday that the attack by Russian forces in Odessa this morning, which left at least two dead and 22 injured, is “another war crime” of the Kremlin.
“The continuous terror of Russian missiles against Odessa, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is another war crime of the Kremlin, which also demolished the Orthodox cathedral, considered a world heritage site,” said Josep Borrel, in a message through his official Twitter account.
The head of European diplomacy stressed that Russia has already damaged hundreds of cultural sites in its attempt to “destroy Ukraine”.
Russia launched an attack on Odessa tonight, firing 19 missiles, hitting civilian infrastructure, apartment blocks and cars, and damaging Odessa’s Transfiguration Cathedral. According to the balance of the authorities there are at least two dead and 22 injured.
This port city has come under massive attack since Russia on Monday abandoned the Black Sea deal guaranteeing Ukraine a safe consignment to transport its grain to the rest of the world, and after Kiev attacked the Crimean bridge for the second time.
