Polls: PP de Feijoo wins elections in Spain

According to forecasts released at 7pm by public broadcaster RTVE at the close of polls (7pm in Lisbon), the PP will win 34.2%, between 145 and 150 deputies, and be in a possible position to win an absolute majority with Vox’s far right – appearing at 11.2% (between 24 and 27 deputies).

It takes 176 deputies for an absolute majority, so both parties would need to get the best result from this poll to get an absolute parliamentary majority.

Still according to this study by Sigma Dos for RTVE, the PSOE will have 28.9% (113 and 118 deputies) and the left Sumar, with 13.3% getting between 28 and 31 deputies, will become the third political force, the supposed target.

Tele5 also went ahead with a poll conducted by GAD3, which projects the right with a higher chance of a majority on the right, as the PP would get between 147 and 153 deputies and Vox between 29 and 33 – this is the third most voted party.

PSOE would be at 109-115 and Sumar at 25-29.

If this scenario becomes reality, the turn to the right will be much more obvious in Spain.

Spain votes in parliamentary elections with the polls known to the last day showing the victory of the right and the defeat of the current prime minister, the socialist Pedro Sánchez.

This is the sixteenth general election in Spain since the end of the dictatorship, in 1977, and 37,469,142 voters were called to vote, to elect 350 deputies and 208 senators.

Elections were scheduled for December, at the end of the legislature, but were brought forward by Sánchez after the defeat of the left in municipal and regional elections on May 28.
