Donald Trump accuses Biden of pressuring prosecutors to prevent him from campaigning

Donald Trump, a former president and Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential election, on Tuesday accused his Democratic rival, President Joe Biden, of preventing him from campaigning by pressuring prosecutors to indict him in court.

“[Joe Biden] He took me to court in the middle of an electoral campaign that I am winning by a lot, but that forces me to spend time and money on things unrelated to the campaign, ”said the Republican magnate, at a rally in New Hampshire. .

Donald Trump has been indicted three times in recent months, in separate cases.

The former head of state was accused of trying to change the result of the 2020 presidential election, of falsifying business documents in a case involving porn actress Stormy Daniels, with whom the former president had an affair in 2006, and of having compromised the security of the United States by keeping classified documents after his departure from the White House in January 2021, including military plans or information on nuclear weapons.

The former president pleaded “not guilty” in all these cases, which he qualifies as a “witch hunt” promoted by the Biden Administration.

At a rally in the state of New Hampshire on Tuesday, Trump suggested that the numerous hearings scheduled for the next few months related to the cases could prevent him from being on the ground.

“I couldn’t go to Iowa today [terça-feira]or to New Hampshire, because I would be sitting in court because of a prosecutor who accused me of stupidity,” he said.

The current head of state and candidate for the White House, Joe Biden, has expressed concern about not commenting on the lawsuits against Trump, in order to distance himself from the accusations of instrumentalizing Justice.

Donald Trump also hinted Tuesday that a fourth indictment could be announced “next week.”

This eventual lawsuit may be related to Trump’s alleged pressure exerted on a Georgia official after the 2020 presidential election.
