Russia has evacuated more than 2,000 people from flooded areas in the east of the country after the passage of tropical storm Khanun, authorities announced on Sunday.

The ministry said nearly 5,000 buildings were flooded in this region bordering China and North Korea.
Rescue teams have set up 13 temporary shelters in the region, he added.
The city of Ussuriisk has experienced its worst flooding in a decade, according to state news agency TASS.
Last week, the Khanun storm, accompanied by heavy rains and violent winds, swept across Japan before making landfall on the Korean Peninsula.
The storm forced precautionary evacuations and the cancellation of hundreds of flights and trains in Japan and South Korea.
