Ukrainian authorities on Wednesday accused Russia of new nighttime drone attacks in the Odessa region, which damaged grain warehouses in one of the Danube ports in the Black Sea region.
The Russian army twice attacked the port of Odeshchyna with drones, regional sources were quoted as saying by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.
According to this source, warehouses and barns were damaged, although the emergency services were able to quickly put out the fires.
The attacks caused no casualties or injuries, according to Ukrinform.
In early August, kyiv had already blamed Russia for a series of attacks on a grain warehouse in Izmail. [região de Odessa]in the Danube, which would affect the transport of these foodstuffs through Romania.
According to the Ukrainian authorities, the successive attacks launched by Russia against port and industrial infrastructure in the Odessa region have begun to affect the alternative route across the Danube.
Russian attacks on the southern region of Ukraine increased with the end of the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grains through the Black Sea in July, which is crucial for the world’s food supply.
