The Iranian authorities presented a new “drone” on Tuesday, which indicates that it has a range of 2,000 kilometers, can stay in the air for 24 hours and can carry various types of weapons.
The new drone [aparelho aéreo não tripulado] was presented at the Defense Industry Day ceremony in the presence of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Iran’s Fars news agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guard, reported.
The Mohajer-10 – meaning migrant – has a range of 2,000 kilometers, can fly at a maximum speed of 210 kilometers per hour, stay in the air for 24 hours and carry up to 300 kilograms of cargoaccording to the Iranian authorities.
Further, it has ‘electronic warfare’ and ‘intelligence systems’, as well as the capacity to carry all types of munitions and bombs’said the Fars agency.
The presentation of the new weapon was also attended by Defense Minister Brigadier General Mohamad Reza Qarai Ashtiani and other senior officials of the country’s armed forces.
“I hope that the efforts of all of us will increase the greatness, honor and power of the country,” Raisi told Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
The ceremony also included a new guided bomb, “Arman 1″for which no further details were provided.
Iran has a developed kamikaze drone manufacturing industry. Last April, the ‘drone’ Me’raj-532 was successfully tested, with a range of 450 kilometers, at an altitude of 12,000 feet and flying for three hours.
Western countries have denounced Iran selling Shahed-136/131 “kamikaze drones” to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine, something Tehran denies.
In response to the sale of these ‘drones’, the European Union (EU), the United States and the United Kingdom have imposed sanctions on individuals and companies involved in the production of these Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles.
