The Moroccan head of state, King Mohammed VI, will visit the Marrakech University Hospital this Tuesday.

The information was provided by Moroccan military officers to the French news channel BFMTV.

The hospital in question has received numerous injured people from the areas affected by the earthquake that occurred on Friday night.

The earthquake, whose epicenter was recorded in the town of Ighil, 63 kilometers southwest of the city of Marrakech, was felt in Portugal and Spain and reached a magnitude of 7.0 on the Richter scale, according to the National Institute of Geophysics of Marrakesh. .

This earthquake is the deadliest in Morocco since the one that destroyed Agadir, on the country’s western coast, on February 29, 1960, causing between 12,000 and 15,000 deaths, a third of the city’s population.
