Apple updates iPhone 12 in France to meet European Golf emissions standards

Apple will update the iPhone 12 in France to comply with European standards on electromagnetic radiation emissions and to resume sales in France, AFP reported this Friday.

“After debate and as requested (Tuesday) by ANFR [Agência Nacional de Frequências]the manufacturer Apple assured me that it would implement an update for the iPhone 12 in the coming days,” French Minister of Digital Transition and Telecommunications Jean-Noël Barrot told the France-Presse (AFP) agency.

French government agency ANFR demanded that Californian tech giant Apple pull the iPhone 12 from the French market this week after concluding that the device emits excessive levels of electromagnetic radiation.

The ANFR ordered Apple to “use all available resources to quickly correct this error”, otherwise the company would have to recall mobile phones already sold in France.
