“Images that speak for themselves.” The vice-president of the Council of Ministers, Matteo Salvini, once again showed his support in the same way as he did for Marine Le Pen, head of the deputies of the National Rally in the Assembly.
In a video montage published on the social network, the former candidate for the 2012, 2017 and 2022 presidential elections is filmed on stage, receiving a standing ovation at Matteo Salvini’s League party.
Then comes another video extract: that of Emmanuel Macron being copiously booed during the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup at the Stade de France in Paris. Cheers from one side, whistles from the other… The staging clearly highlights the former president of the National Group in front of the President of the Republic, here in difficulties.
“All life with Marine Le Pen”
“If I had to choose, I would have no doubt: NEVER with Macron, all my life with Marine Le Pen,” wrote Matteo Salvini in his video montage.
The dispute occurs in a tense context between Italy and the European Union, including France in particular. The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, arrived in Rome where he discussed with his Italian counterpart the arrival of immigrants to Lampedusa.
At the same time, the Italian Government approved this Monday measures to combat the migration crisis in its territory, in particular by extending the maximum period of detention of irregular immigrants from 135 days to 18 months. This measure must still be voted on in the Italian parliament.
