A landslide in western Sweden on Saturday caused a huge hole in a main road to Norway, and three people were injured when cars and a bus left the road, police said.
Photos and videos showed a 500-meter-wide hole opened up on the E6 highway, which connects southern Sweden with Norway, not far from Sweden’s second-largest city, Gothenburg.

Police reported that at least four cars and a bus went off the road and were damaged, requiring three people to be hospitalized.
Several buildings and facilities were damaged, including a fast food restaurant.
Swedish emergency services received an alert at 01:45 local time (00:45 in Lisbon) that a substantial part of the E6 had collapsed in Stenungsund, police spokesman August Brandt told the public broadcaster. Swedish SVT.
Emergency authorities continue to search with dogs and specially trained personnel to ensure that no people are trapped in the rubble.
The cause of the landslide has not yet been determined.
Swedish media claimed that the area has been the scene of major construction activities, including blasting and excavation work, also highlighting the fact that it has rained a lot in recent days.
According to the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, images captured by a drone (a remotely controlled flying device) showed that a crack had appeared on the E6 after the start of construction of a business park.
Swedish police have launched a preliminary investigation.
