The Ukrainian president announced on social media on Thursday his arrival in Granada to participate in the summit of the leaders of the European Political Community and the European Union (EU), which takes place within the framework of the Spanish presidency of the European Union.

Nearly fifty leaders from European countries are meeting in Granada today to debate the continent’s future at a new summit of the European Political Community, a forum created in 2022 after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The meeting is organized by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, and will take place in the second half of this year, and takes place on the eve of an informal meeting, also in Granada, of the European Council, where the leaders of the 27 countries of the community bloc.
The two meetings are intended as “the great milestone” of the Spanish presidency and have “a common thread”, Madrid government sources said.
The Spanish Presidency of the EU had neither confirmed nor denied the presence of the President of Ukraine, citing security reasons not to comment on this possibility.
Ukraine is one of the CPE countries and, like other states in this community, is a formal candidate for accession to the EU.
