A Russian attack on the city of Kharkiv, in northeastern Ukraine, near the border with Russia, killed a 10-year-old boy this Friday morning, local authorities reported.
“A 10-year-old boy was found under the rubble. Unfortunately, the child died,” wrote the head of the military administration of the Kharkiv region, Oleg Siniegubov, on the Telegram messaging platform.
The attack also injured 16 people, and emergency services continue to provide assistance at the scene, according to authorities.
Meanwhile, Ukraine claimed this Friday to have shot down 25 of the 33 attack drones launched by Russia, which has carried out daily night bombing raids against the neighboring country.
Destroyed anti-aircraft defenses “25 [‘drones’] ‘Shahed’ 131/136, in the regions of Odessa, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Tcherkassy and Khytomyr,” the Ukrainian Air Force said on Telegram.
