The head of the Ukrainian army said on Monday that Russian forces had fired at least 75 missiles at Ukraine, with deadly strikes in the capital kyiv and cities in the south and west.

In kyiv, the circulation of the metro was stopped and the stations of the Ukrainian capital were converted into air-raid shelters.

Car traffic was also blocked in the city center, according to the mayor, Vitali Klitchko, quoted by AFP.

In addition to the explosions in kyiv, there was also the third bombing in five days against the city of Zaporizhia (south), in which, according to some media, one person died.

Ukrainian media also report several missile explosions in the city of Dnipro, as well as attacks in Zhytomyr, near kyiv, in Khmelnytskyi further east, on the bank of the Bug River from the south, and Ternopil (to the east, in the banks of the river Seret). ).

According to the independent kyiv newspaper, citing Governor Vitaliy Kim, a total of ten S-300 missiles have fallen on the city of Myukolaiv, with no casualties reported so far.

The Russian shelling came after an explosion on Saturday damaged the Kerch Bridge, between Russia and Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula, annexed in 2014.

Moscow blamed the explosion on the bridge on a Ukrainian terrorist attack.

Russia unleashed the current war in Ukraine by invading the neighboring country on February 24 this year.
