The 86-year-old Portuguese man who was run over by a bus in Cádiz, southern Spain, on Monday died of serious injuries, sources at the city hospital where he was admitted said on Wednesday.
The man was seriously injured when he was run over by a bus in an accident that left three others dead.
According to local authorities, the Portuguese man was on holiday in the region and was admitted to the intensive care unit of the city hospital after the accident.
According to the driver’s reports and the initial conclusions of the accident investigation, the collision was the result of a malfunction in the bus’s brakes.
The bus ended up in the opposite lane of the road it was traveling on and onto a sidewalk, killing three people after being run over at the scene.
The bus was carrying about thirty nursing students from a university in the region who were attending classes at the medical university in Cádiz.
