The (possible) list of foreigners murdered, missing or held hostage by Hamas

About 250 of the Israeli victims were attending a party in the desert, near the border with the Gaza Strip, when they were attacked.

***Thailand***

Twenty people were killed, fourteen hostages were taken and thirteen were injured. About 30,000 Thais work in Israel.

*** UNITED STATES ***

At least 22 people have been killed and several civilians are being held hostage by Hamas, US President Joe Biden confirmed.

*** France ***

Eleven dead and 18 missing. France mourns the dead and missing citizens, including “several children” who were “probably kidnapped” by Hamas.

*** Nepal ***

Ten dead and one missing. Another four are in hospital and have lost contact with a fifth. Israel welcomed 265 Nepalese students, 17 of whom stayed in Kibbutz Alumim (south), the target of the attack.

Several dead and missing. Families confirmed the deaths of two Britons: Nathanel Young, 20, who served in the Israeli army and was killed on the Gaza border, and Bernard Cowan, a Scot.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said on Tuesday that a “significant number of British Israelis” were “involved in terrorist atrocities in one way or another”.

Seventeen Britons, including children, are dead or missing, according to the BBC, a number that has not been confirmed by the government. They include a photographer whose family believe he is dead and a British man who lived in Israel for two years and provided security at Saturday’s rave party.

According to Baku, one man was killed.

*** Austria ***

One dead and two missing. Vienna announced today that one of three missing dual nationals has been found dead.

*** Germany ***

Several hostages taken by Hamas. The MNE did not comment on the alleged kidnapping of a 22-year-old German-Israeli woman, Shani Louk, who was at a party near the Gaza Strip and who her mother said she saw in a video on social media.

The sister of a Berlin woman talked about the death of her relative on Monday evening. However, the family has not yet received any official confirmation.

***Mexico***

Two hostages.

Countries registering missing citizens include Paraguay (two), Colombia (two), Tanzania (two), Italy (two). A missing Panamanian citizen has been found alive, according to the country’s authorities.

Hamas, which has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007, has threatened to execute hostages kidnapped in Israel, including youths captured during a music festival.

In total, the war has claimed more than three thousand lives, including civilians, Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters.

Since then, the conflict has left more than 1,200 dead on the Israeli side and 950 in Gaza since Saturday.

The attack prompted Israel to declare war on the Palestinian extremist group and respond with bombing of the Gaza Strip.
