Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz warned Thursday that the country will not allow basic resources or humanitarian aid into Gaza until the Palestinian extremist group Hamas releases the people it kidnapped in its attack late last year.
“Humanitarian aid to Gaza? No electrical switches will be turned on, no fire hydrants will be opened and no fuel trucks will enter until the Israeli hostages return home.. From person to person. And no one is going to teach us anything about moral values,” wrote the Israeli Minister of National Infrastructure, Energy and Water, Israel Katz, on X (formerly Twitter).

About 150 Israelis, foreigners and people with dual nationalities were kidnapped by Hamas militants and taken to the Gaza Strip as part of Saturday’s attack that killed more than 1,200 people in Israeli towns and communities.
Israel in turn launched an intensive air campaign against militants from the Palestinian extremist group Hamas in the encircled Gaza Strip, killing around 1,200 people.
In recent days, Israel has announced a “total siege” on the Gaza Strip, cutting off supplies of water, fuel and electricity. The only power plant on Palestinian territory was closed on Wednesday after running out of fuel.
