kyiv fears that military aid will decrease due to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict

The head of the Ukrainian military intelligence services (GUR), Kiril Budanov, admitted this Thursday to the newspaper Ukrainska Pravda that the shipment of military material to Ukraine could decrease if Israel’s war against Hamas is prolonged.

Budanov said that if the conflict between Israel and the Islamist group Hamas lasts a few weeks, there will be no worries on the part of Ukraine.

“But if the situation continues, it is clear that there will be some problems, because not only Ukraine needs the supply of weapons and ammunition,” the GUR head said.

Budanov explained that Ukraine does not foresee any problems with the military aid it receives from abroad until the middle of next year.

“From then on everything will depend on us, on how well we convey, show and explain our needs,” the GUR head said, adding the need for Ukraine to increase its weapons production capacity.

Ukrainians also fear that the sending of military assistance by the United States could be interrupted in the event of the victory of former Republican head of state Donald Trump in the 2024 US presidential elections. Republican circles loyal to Trump oppose continuing to send military aid to Ukraine.

Trump is, according to polls, the Republican politician best positioned to run for that party in the 2024 elections in the United States.
