A teacher was killed in an attack on a school in Arras, northern France, on Friday, according to AFP. According to the latest report, two injuries have been reported. No students were injured.
The suspect in the attack was “arrested” by authorities, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said in a message shared on social media. It concerns a 20-year-old young man, of Chechen origin and who, according to BFM TV, has already been referred to by the authorities.
Le Figaro writes that the attacker used a knife when he attended high school in Gambetta. According to the French newspaper, the attacker shouted “Allah Akbar” during the attack that resulted in the death of a teacher.
The motives for this attack are not yet known.

According to Le Figaro, French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to go to the site of the attack.
