At least seven people died and several were injured in an accident in southern Bavaria, involving a vehicle allegedly used for migrant smuggling, German police revealed this Friday.
The van was carrying more than 20 people.
The vehicle crashed this morning while trying to evade police in southern Bavaria, near the border with Austria.
All occupants had to be transferred to nearby hospitals, with varying degrees of severity.
The driver, who had caught the attention of the authorities, accelerated sharply at a police station.
The emergency services and firefighters were called to the scene of the accident and the road towards Munich was closed.
The Public Ministry is already investigating and the crime of homicide could be involved.
