The presence of Israeli forces in the southern part of Israel is increasing in areas parallel to the Gaza Strip, with mechanized forces and troop transports, accompanied by some armed civilians.

“I’m here to help get medical equipment to the troops.”adds the young man in uniform and armed, stating that the “The majority of Gaza’s population (over one million citizens) are largely Hamas supporters”.
There are more than a million civilians in the Gaza Strip, while forces involved in the Israeli campaign mobilize daily into areas east and north of the enclave.
“In Sderot I dare say that there are currently only 2,500 Israeli citizens,” A medical source from the health center that remains operational on the outskirts of the city, opposite Gaza, told Lusa.
The city’s evacuation orders were issued last week, but the evacuation is voluntary.
Most access points to the main road connecting northern and eastern Gaza are restricted by the Israeli army, making way for tanks and military vehicles for fuel supply.
Israeli heavy artillery fire started at 2:15 p.m. (12:15 p.m. in Lisbon).
