Israeli army detains 40 Palestinians suspected of terrorism in West Bank

This Monday, the Israeli army detained 40 suspected terrorists in a series of operations in the West Bank, with 360 Palestinians detained since the beginning of the conflict, on October 7, with the Islamist movement Hamas.

All those detained were wanted and at least twenty are part of the Palestinian armed group, the Israeli army confirmed, adding that the operations carried out in several areas of the West Bank also resulted in the seizure of several weapons.

In Beit Kahil, the military closed a printing plant that produced and distributed “terrorist materials that incite support for the Hamas terrorist organization,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a message posted on the X social network.

In Aqbat Jaber, clashes occurred between Israeli security forces and Palestinians, who threw Molotov cocktails at soldiers, causing the army to open fire. A similar scenario was experienced in the Deheisha refugee camp.

“Detained persons and confiscated war assets have been transferred for further treatment. There are no casualties among Israeli forces,” the army said.

Since the Islamist group Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7, 210 Palestinians, believed to be members of Hamas, have been detained in the West Bank.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 58 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the area.

Hamas has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007 and is classified as terrorist by the European Union, the United States and Israel. Since the beginning of the conflict with Israel, thousands of deaths and injuries have been recorded in both territories.
