Andrew Mounbatten Windsor, one of Queen Elizabeth II’s sons and involved in several sexual scandals, will no longer be called Prince Andrew.
“Her Majesty has today commenced formal proceedings to withdraw the title and honors of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Thursday, October 30, as reported by the BBC.
While he previously enjoyed a 30-room royal residence in Windsor, he will have to move. “He has been formally notified of the termination of the tenancy contract and will move to other private accommodation,” Buckingham Palace said, stating that “these sanctions are considered necessary, although he continues to deny the allegations made against him.”

Additionally, according to the Daily Mail, Prince William and his wife Kate plan to move to a new residence near Prince Andrew’s. The heir to the throne would like, according to this newspaper, for Andrés to have left sooner.
Andrew Mounbatten Windsor, 65, is accused of having close ties to child molester Jeffrey Epstein. These accusations were highlighted once again with the posthumous publication on Tuesday of the memoirs of Virginia Giuffre, the main accuser in this matter.
She writes that she was forced to have sex with Andrew on three occasions, including at least two when she was 17 years old.
After retiring from public life five years ago, Andrew Mounbatten Windsor announced on October 17 that he was renouncing his royal titles, including that of Duke of York. However, an Act of Parliament is needed to officially withdraw it.
