Iran’s president says Tel Aviv faces “harsh revenge” after hospital massacre

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi warned on Wednesday that Israel will face “harsh revenge” from Muslim countries after the bombing of a hospital in Gaza that killed hundreds of people.

“[Israel] A harsh revenge awaits from the Muslim countries,” Raisi said in a speech during a demonstration in Tehran protesting the bombing of Al Ahli Hospital, the Iran Nuances news portal reported.

“They will face the wrath of the Muslim countries,” added Raisi, wearing a Palestinian scarf around his neck, stressing that the attack on the hospital “began the beginning of the end of the Zionist regime.”

“With every drop of blood shed by the Palestinians, the Zionist regime moves one step closer to collapse,” said Raisi, accusing the United States of being “a partner” of Israel in the crimes committed in the Gaza Strip and in arming the Palestinian territories. Israeli army with rockets.

According to the Iranian president, the bombs falling on the people of the Gaza Strip “belong to the United States”.

Iran declared a day of mourning today over the hospital bombing, a massacre for which Israeli and Palestinian militias hold each other responsible.

Thousands of people in Tehran took to the streets this afternoon to protest the incident.

In the capital’s Palestine Square, shouts of ‘Allah is Great’, ‘death to America’ and ‘death to Israel’ were heard.

On Tuesday evening, thousands of people had already protested in the capital, including in front of the French and British embassies.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel are enemies and pose an existential threat to each other, both competing through a secret war involving cyber attacks, assassinations and sabotage.

At least 471 people were killed in the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip, according to the latest report from the Health Ministry of the Hamas government, which controls the Palestinian enclave.

By Tuesday evening and after the attack, the ministry had reported at least 200 deaths, with Hamas accusing Israel of responsibility for this deadly attack on Gaza City’s Al Ahli hospital.

Israel, for its part, has attributed responsibility to Islamic Jihad, another armed Islamist organization in Gaza, which it denied.

The Ministry of Health of the Palestinian Islamic Movement government also updated the casualty count, announcing that at least 3,478 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas, in addition to 12,065 injured.

The Hamas attack killed about 1,400 Israelis, including more than 300 soldiers, and kidnapped about 200 people held in the Gaza Strip, in addition to hundreds of deaths among Hamas fighters who infiltrated Israel.

The conflict has already spread to the Israeli-Lebanese border, with continued exchanges of artillery fire and grenades between the Jewish army and the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah militia. At least 61 Palestinians have been killed, hundreds injured and more than 700 arrested in the occupied West Bank since October 7.
