Hamas requested this Saturday in a statement that the wounded be removed from the Gaza Strip “due to the incapacity” of the health system in the enclave controlled by the Palestinian Islamist group.
The director of the Hamas Government’s media office, Salamat Maarouf, stated that the aid that entered Gaza today through the Rafah crossing, on the border with Egypt, is limited and does not change “the humanitarian catastrophe” in the besieged enclave. by the Israeli army. .
Salamat Maarouf stated that the important thing is to guarantee the safe passage of this aid to cover humanitarian needs, in addition to the departure of the wounded so that they can be treated.
The statement highlighted the importance of permanently opening the Rafah crossing and bringing aid due to fuel shortages and the lack of medicines and health products, as well as food and electricity.
Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari confirmed today at a press conference that food, water and medical assistance would arrive in the southern area of Gaza, but did not indicate the supply of fuel, essential for the operation of the enclave’s power plant.
Hagari added that the Israeli military “continues to shell Hamas strongholds in northern Gaza.”
The border post between Egypt and the Gaza Strip was reopened today to allow the flow of aid and the departure of Palestinians from the territory.
More than 200 trucks loaded with some 3,000 tons of aid have been near the post for several days, waiting for authorization to enter.

United States, which will provide aid to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
