Israel carried out “selective operations” with tanks in the northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday night, the Israeli army reported this Thursday.
“Overnight, the army carried out a targeted tank operation in the northern Gaza Strip, as part of preparations for the next stages of the battle,” according to a statement from the military spokesman.
In preparation for the next stages of combat, the IDF operated in northern Gaza.
IDF tanks and infantry attacked numerous terrorist cells, infrastructure, and anti-tank missile launch sites.

The military “abandoned the area” at the end of the operation, he added.
On October 7, the Islamist movement Hamas launched a surprise attack against southern Israel with the launch of thousands of rockets and the raid of armed militiamen, taking two hundred hostages.
In response, Israel declared war on Hamas, which has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007 and is classified as terrorist by the European Union and the United States, bombing several of the group’s infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, while imposing a total siege of the territory with cutoff of water, fuel and electricity supplies.
The conflict has already caused thousands of deaths and injuries, between soldiers and civilians, in both territories.
