Étienne de Poncins, the French ambassador to Ukraine, returned to BFMTV on Monday, when many Russian missiles were aimed at the Ukrainian capital. A response with fire presented by many experts as the revenge of the master of the Kremlin after the explosion that targeted the Kerch Strait bridge, which connects the annexed region of Crimea with mainland Russia.
“What is new is that there have been strikes in the historic center of Kyiv,” the diplomat said.
Then to add: “Like many Kievans, yesterday I spent the morning in the underground parking lot of a hotel, and I spent the afternoon in the basement of the embassy.”
Ambassador de Poncins also expressed his concern on our channel about the numerous Russian attacks against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, this time on Tuesday.
“The Russians are hitting the electricity production plants. The aim is to weaken the country and its economy as winter approaches,” he said.
