Ten trucks with humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip this Sunday through the Rafah crossing, which separates the Palestinian territory from Egypt, the local Red Crescent reported this Sunday on social networks.
“Today we received ten trucks from our brothers from the Egyptian Red Crescent, through the Rafah crossing, the Palestinian humanitarian organization reported on Facebook, in a message cited by the Europa Press agency.
According to the publication, the shipment contains food and medical supplies.
The Palestinian Red Crescent highlighted that so far 94 trucks with humanitarian aid have entered since the beginning of the current conflict, on October 7, when previously approximately a hundred trucks entered the Gaza Strip daily.
The organization reported that “so far no fuel has been allowed in,” vital for the operation of the generators that supply electricity to Gaza hospitals.
The Islamist group Hamas launched a surprise attack in southern Israel on October 7 with the launch of thousands of rockets and the incursion of armed militiamen, killing more than 1,400 Israelis, mainly civilians, and kidnapping more than 200.
In response, Israel declared war on Hamas, a movement that has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007 and is classified as terrorist by the European Union and the United States, bombing several of the group’s infrastructure in the Gaza Strip and imposing a total siege. to the territory with a cut in the supply of water, fuel and electricity.
The conflict has already caused thousands of deaths and injuries, between soldiers and civilians, in both territories.
