A spokesman for the armed wing of Hamas revealed this Tuesday that the Islamist movement will release “foreign hostages in the coming days” and assured that Gaza will be “a cemetery” for Israel if the Israeli army moves forward with a military invasion.
“We have informed the intermediaries that we will release a certain number of foreigners in the coming days,” declared Abu Obeida, spokesman for the al-Qasam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian movement, in a video broadcast by Hamas media.
After the attacks on the 7th of this month, Hamas, a movement considered a terrorist organization by the European Union (EU) and the United States, took more than two hundred hostages.
The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that it had freed a soldier held hostage by the Islamist movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Israeli authorities said in a statement.
