The leader of the Islamist movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, accused Israel on Wednesday of carrying out massacres in Gaza to cover up failures and declared that there will be no stability in the region if the Palestinians do not gain independence.
“We tell the enemy (…) that your attempts to cover up your failures will not save you from a resounding defeat”said Haniyeh of Qatar, in a speech broadcast by Hamas media.
“There will be no security or stability in the region and beyond if the rights of our people to freedom, independence and return are not realized.”he added.

According to the Islamic movement, more than 8,500 people were killed and thousands of others were injured in the bombings, which Israel retaliated against the attack by Hamas, which is considered a terrorist organization by Israel, the United States and the European Union and has occupied Gaza since 2007. , when he expelled the Palestinian party Fatah, which rules the West Bank, from the area.
Israel has been carrying out airstrikes on Gaza since October 7, when Hamas militants attacked Israeli villages and military posts.
Israeli forces have also stepped up operations in the West Bank, which has been occupied since the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.
