The PT accuses Tel Aviv of preventing the departure of “threatened Brazilian citizens” from Gaza

The Workers’ Party (PT) of Brazil, in power, denounced that the Israeli authorities prevented Brazilian citizens from leaving the Gaza Strip on three occasions.

“The Israeli Government has denied for the third time the departure of Brazilian citizens threatened by the massacre against the civilian population of the Gaza Strip,” said the president of the PT, Gleisi Hoffmann, in a statement posted on social networks.

Hoffmann denounced that Israel “He gave no explanation for this attitude.”, which, he considered, “discriminates against a country, Brazil, which has historical relations with the State of Israel”and who defends”a negotiated solution to the conflict”.

“Unfortunately, the Israeli Government establishes a political hierarchy for the liberation of civilians and privileges some countries to the detriment of others,” criticized the leader of the Brazilian president’s party, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

“We can not allow Brazilian civilians continue to be threatened in a region subjected to military massacres,” he highlighted.

Hoffmann also reported that Israel is sending Palestinian workers back to the Gaza Strip, under bombardment.

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, “does not want Palestinians in the country”he said.

“Attitudes like this say a lot about this war. It is turning into ethnic cleansing,” he stressed.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas has killed 230 foreign citizensdeaths confirmed by their countries of origin, with the majority of victims being French, Thai and North American, as reported this Saturday by the AFP news agency.

Brazil confirmed the death of two Brazilian-Israelis and a Brazilian woman, also recognizing the disappearance of a citizen with dual Brazilian and Israeli nationality.

On October 7, Hamas – classified as a terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union and Israel – carried out an attack of unprecedented dimensions into Israeli territory, killing more than 1,400 people, most of them civilians, and more than 200 hostages, who are being held captive in the Gaza Strip.

Israel then began strong reprisals against that poor Palestinian enclave, controlled by Hamas since 2007, with cuts in the supply of food, water, electricity and fuel and daily bombings, followed by a ground offensive that completed the siege of Gaza City on Thursday. .

This conflict caused at least 9,250 deaths in the Gaza Strip and 1,400 in Israel.
